Original Vintage SMC Camlocks Nuts

Camlocks were one of the many forms of rock climbing protection that appeared on the market in the 1970's when climbers were still coming to terms with the transition from the days of chockstone and piton to aluminium alloy nuts.
The Seattle Mountaineering Corporation((SMC) produced Camlocks, mainly for the American market, which was fortunate for the Brits as they were not a success, with many Americans suggesting that they slipped rather than locked and recommending that if you could get one to work it was the best thing to leave behind if you were abseiling from a climb!
